SendMyAd Case Study: Cahaba Media Group

Cahaba Media Group, a media company focused on producing trade magazines, digital media, and events, has adopted SendMyAd to streamline its ad collection and workflow processes.

After a year of use, Cahaba Media has leveraged SendMyAd to improve efficiency, minimize errors, and centralize their ad submissions with a custom CRM integration — benefiting both their team and clients.

For more on how SendMyAd has helped Cahaba Media Group supercharge its ad operations workflows, check out the Q&A below with their Director of Operations, Laurie Tisdale!

Blanchard: How long has Cahaba Media Group been with SendMyAd and what sort of workflow issues led to that decision?

Laurie: Just over a year. We were using Ad Orbit to collect ads. There were also a few other systems in place to collect ads. It was in many different spots, so that was one of the things — everything was too spread out. Clients were uploading the wrong size, ad type, or file type, so we wanted a way to limit the errors.

Blanchard: Were the errors the biggest pain point you were trying to solve with SendMyAd?

Laurie: Yes. The designers had to stop what they were doing, download an ad, preflight it, and then tell the client, "Hey, this is what's wrong with it," or "It's not the right size," or whatever. So that was one of the bigger ones — taking that part off of the designers.

Blanchard: What features sold you on implementing SendMyAd?

Laurie: The preflighting ability — for the client that's uploading to see what needs to be fixed on the ad. Also, the Ad Orbit integration was a plus for us. It was big to have all the ad requests sent straight to SendMyAd and for those to be there for the clients.

Blanchard: What has the Ad Orbit integration done for your team?

Laurie: Whenever a rep sells an ad, the ad ticket creates an ad request within SendMyAd immediately. The client can go in and upload their ad to their ad type. So, if they’ve got a half-page ad, that’s what they’re going to upload to.

It saves time not needing to download and upload reports to SendMyAd or create individual ad requests. The fact that they’re created as the ads are sold in Ad Orbit saves about 90% of someone’s work.

Blanchard: How was SendMyAd received by your clients/advertisers?

Laurie: Among the clients, there were a lot of people saying, "Oh, this is really cool. I like being able to see these things." I haven’t looked at the numbers lately, but we were around 75–80% adoption of people uploading to SendMyAd.

Blanchard: What has SendMyAd done for your team's workflow efficiency?

Laurie: It’s a time-saving for the designers, especially. It’s also a time saving for our client services team that deals with ad collection. It stopped them from having to make sure ads are in one spot — they can see it and don’t have to check different sources.

Blanchard: What has been your experience working with the Blanchard Systems team?

Laurie: The Blanchard team has been great. Ole has been great about helping with things, and Rachel as well on the client success side. Things that have been a problem have been solved in a timely manner!

Blanchard: Would you recommend SendMyAd to a friend or colleague?

Laurie: Yes, it’s a great platform to collect ads through. It gives clients the ability to see what is right and wrong with their ad, and it helps the publisher not have to fight those battles.
